Hydrogen Flame and Detonation Physics
Recently, hydrogen has drawn significant attention for its use in energy storage and propulsion systems without carbon emission. Hydrogen has many unique physico-chemical properties, such as small molecular weight, low ignition energy, broad flammability range, and high reactivity. These features pose critical safety issues including hydrogen leakage, ignition, and detonation, which are dominated by multi-scale and extreme fluid dynamics. This special collection aims to reveal underlying physics related to hydrogen flame and detonation, to build a base of decarbonized technological innovation for our zero-carbon future.
