Neuromorphic Materials, Devices, and Processing

This Special Topic Collection will feature articles dedicated to the science and technology of materials, circuits and processing that enables neuromorphic computation with topics ranging from material deposition and characterization and device fabrication to new devices and circuits.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Optical materials and devices for artificial neurons
  • Charge trapping transistors
  • Electrochemical transistors
  • Two-dimensional (2D) materials for artificial neuron and synapse devices
  • Ferroelectric transistors and ferroelectric tunnel junction
  • Memristors and memristor materials, resistive-switching-based devices, mechanisms of switching
  • Phase change memory (PCM) materials and devices, photonic memories and logic using PCMs
  • Plasma processing for neuromorphic materials and devices
