Special Topic Collection: Tutorials in Sum-Frequency Generation Spectroscopy 2024

This second Biointerphases Special Topic Collection on Tutorials in Sum-Frequency Generation (SFG) Spectroscopy will include tutorial articles describing various aspects of SFG spectroscopy, written pedagogically and in a way that is accessible to newcomers to the field that do not have extensive backgrounds in optical physics or nonlinear spectroscopy. The collection will be a resource that anyone new to SFG spectroscopy can turn to in order to get up and running in the field effectively and quickly.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel presentations and explanations of the fundamental theory of SFG spectroscopy.
  • Design, construction, and operation of instrumentation for SFG spectroscopy.
  • Processing, analysing, and interpreting SFG spectra.
  • Modelling SFG spectra.
