Novel low-temperature and high-flux hydrogen plasma source for extreme-ultraviolet lithography applications

Inside extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines, a hydrogen plasma is generated by ionization of the background gas by EUV photons. This plasma is essential for preventing carbon build-up on the optics, but it might affect functional performance and the lifetime of other elements inside the machine.

Large-area fabrication of nanometer-scale features on GaN using e-beam lithography

This paper presents a time- and cost-effective method for the large-area fabrication of photonic crystals with nanometer-scale features on the GaN material. The proposed technique utilizes e-beam lithography and double hard mask layers to enable the high aspect ratio etching of the nanoscale features.

Etching of quartz crystals in liquid phase environment: A review

Quartz crystals are the most widely used material in resonant sensors, owing to their excellent piezoelectric and mechanical properties. With the development of portable and wearable devices, higher processing efficiency and geometrical precision are required. Wet etching has been proven to be the most efficient etching method for large-scale production of quartz devices, and many wet etching approaches have been developed over the years.

Simulation and fabrication of in vitro microfluidic microelectrode array chip for patterned culture and electrophysiological detection of neurons

To enable the detection and modulation of modularized neural networks in vitro, this study proposes a microfluidic microelectrode array chip for the cultivation, compartmentalization, and control of neural cells. The chip was designed based on the specific structure of neurons and the requirements for detection and modulation. Finite-element analysis of the chip’s flow field was conducted using the COMSOL Multiphysics software, and the simulation results show that the liquid within the chip can flow smoothly, ensuring stable flow fields that facilitate the uniform growth of neurons within the microfluidic channels.
