Sharing your work with Kudos
AIP Publishing has partnered with Kudos to help our authors increase the visibility and reach of their publications. Kudos is a platform designed especially for researchers and authors that helps you share and promote your publications and monitor the impact of your activities on downloads, citations and altmetrics.
How does Kudos work?
Step 1: Explain
Kudos allows you to describe your work in plain English. A simple title and summary make it easier for readers from outside your specialist community to understand your work – like researchers in allied fields, members of the media, and even policy makers. You can also link to related resources like blog posts, videos, data sets and press releases to give your readers more context.
Step 2: Share
Kudos gives you a trackable link that you can email to your existing network of contacts or share on social media and academic websites. Using that link means you can track which channels of communication are working the best for you and adjust your strategy as needed.
Step 3: Measure
The Kudos dashboard provides a summary of views, citations, and altmetrics. You can see how many times you shared your work and how often the link you shared was accessed. You can see how many people have clicked through from your Kudos summary to the full text of your article on AIP Publishing’s Scitation platform, and how many times your work has been cited according to Web of Science. And because Kudos is a cross-publisher platform, you can analyze the impact of all your articles in one place.
The goal with Kudos, is to help more people find and understand your work. So you can broaden your audience, enhance your professional profile and reputation, and demonstrate impact – all at the same time.
How do I get started?
Getting started with Kudos only takes a minute and is completely free. Once your profile is set up you can claim and explain your publications and start sharing. AIP Publishing authors receive a welcome email from Kudos after their manuscript is published that includes a link to claim that publication.
