2022 Early Career Collection
The Physics of Plasmas Early Career Collection 2022
The Editorial Board of Physics of Plasmas is proud to introduce the annual Early Career Collection. Each year, top papers from all areas of plasma physics research will be selected by the Editorial Board to comprise the Early Career Collection. Papers with first authors within 5 years of receiving their PhD, including student authors, are eligible to have their papers considered for inclusion in this annual featured collection.
Eligibility: The first author must be within 5 years of their PhD defense date (not including career breaks such as family or medical leave) upon completion of the manuscript submission.
Scope: The scope of the special collection encompasses the entire scope of the journal.
How to submit: Submit for consideration through the online submission system. During submission, the submitting author should answer “Yes” to the question of eligibility of the first author and report the date of their PhD defense. Optionally, a brief biography (maximum 65 words) and photograph of the first author may be submitted in a cover letter to be used in the Announcement of the 2022 Early Career Collection.
Example Biographies:
- Jane Doe (she/her), Graduate Student, School of Engineering, University of Plasma Physics. She received her Bachelor’s in Physics from the Condensed Matter Institute in 2020 and is pursuing a PhD in low-temperature plasma physics. Her research interests include cold plasma medicine and bio-atomic sensing.
- John Doe (he/his), Postdoctoral Researcher, Physics Department, University of Applied Physics. He received his PhD in 2019 from Top Research University and began postdoctoral research at the University of Applied Physics in 2021. His research interests include magnetic confinement fusion and tokamak design.
Photograph permissions: Photographs must be accompanied by a License to Publish Image form to be published in the Selection Editorial.
Peer Review: All submissions must undergo the standard peer review process and meet the journal’s acceptance criteria in order to be published in Physics of Plasmas. The Editorial Board will make the final decisions on which published papers are included in the annual Collection. The Board may consider quality, significance, and potential impact of the published work.
