Atomic & Molecular Physics for Controlled Fusion and Astrophysics
Submission Deadline: August 31, 2020View Collection
This special issue looks at atomic and molecular processes and data of relevance to astrophysics and fusion-related plasmas. They are of relevance to interpretation of spectroscopic data, stopping power in plasmas, and accurate modelling of processes such as emission spectra, ionization balance and interpretation of the plasma state (temperature, charge states, densities).
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Spectroscopy
- Atomic & Molecular data
- Atomic physics in dense plasmas
- Atoms interacting with strong electromagnetic fields
- Cross section
- Charge transfer
- Ionization
- Recombination
- Opacity
- Stopping power
- Diagnostics
- Line radiation
- Absorption
