Festschrift in honor of M. Muthukumar: Theoretical and experimental contributions in Polymer Physics
Submission Deadline: July 31, 2026Contribute to this Special Topic
The Festschrift honors Prof. Murugappan Muthukumar (Muthu) for his foundational contributions to polymer physics and his distinguished service as Associate Editor of the Journal of Chemical Physics. His work, spanning theory, simulation, and experiment, has introduced and resolved fundamental concepts in the field. We invite papers building on his legacy in physics of charged macromolecules and polymers that includes thermodynamics, structure, dynamics, transport, and polymer translocation. Additional topics include polymer field theory, density functional theory, coacervation, phase behavior and kinetics, polymer crystallization, gels, virus assembly, and biomolecular condensates, with relevance to energy storage, drug delivery, sequencing, and therapeutics.Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Polymer physics
- Hydrodynamic screening
- Entropic barrier theory
- Polymer
- Polyelectrolyte coacervation
- Phase behavior and kinetics
- Self-assembly
- Gels and blends
- Crystallization
- Membranes
- Energy storage
- Drug delivery
- Sequencing.
