Biofouling – Characterization, Quantification, and Mitigation 2024
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2024
Biointerphases is soliciting articles, reviews, and tutorials for publication in a Special Topic Collection focusing on new developments in the characterization, quantification, and mitigation of biofouling. The collection will include methodological advances and recent developments in the design and fabrication of non-fouling surfaces and the characterization/evaluation of surfaces subject to fouling conditions, as well as new materials designed to slow or prevent biofouling.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Simulations of surfaces and surface treatments
- Design and testing of new materials and treatments
- Data processing methods and developments related to biofouling
- New approaches to the quantification of images and spectrographs
- Advances in techniques and methods permitting quantitative evaluation and characterization of materials or interfaces under fouling conditions
- Review articles
- Tutorial reviews on surface characterization, quantification, and mitigation methods
