Selected Papers from the AVS 70 Quantum Mini-Symposium 2024
This Special Issue aims to collect select contributions from the Quantum Mini-Symposium at the AVS 70th International Symposium (November 3rd through the 8th in Tampa, Florida)
The Symposium is poised to present the latest advancements and explore the future of quantum science and its diverse applications. This year’s AVS Symposium theme, “Innovating Sustainability: Next Generation Energy and Quantum Devices and Their Characterization,” highlights that quantum is a major focus for the international research community. The AVS global community, including academia, government labs, non-profit, and industry innovators, will explore topics from Solid State Quantum Computing to Quantum Internet, Power Distribution, and Quantum roadmap. The program will feature invited lectures by renowned experts and numerous insightful contributed talks.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Solid State Quantum Computing – Materials for Quantum Computing and Quantum Materials
- Quantum Sensors – NV Sensors, Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors
- (SNSPDs), Transition-Edge Sensors (TESs), and Supporting infrastructure
- Quantum Internet, Power Distribution
- Quantum Roadmap and Quantum-Inspired Materials
- Quantum Phononic and Optomechanics
- NSF National Centers and Quantum Foundries
- Materials and Devices for Quantum Systems
- Vacuum systems for quantum applications
- Atomic Qubits – Neutral Atoms and Trapped Ions
