Mechanomedicine
Human health is now starting to benefit from our growing understanding of how mechanical stimuli affect biology at the molecular, cellular, and organ levels. In this collection, we aim to highlight groundbreaking research that bridges mechanobiology with diagnostics and treatment strategies for various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and orthopedic or musculoskeletal conditions. We are looking for contributions that leverage the intricate interplay between mechanical forces and biological processes to advance our understanding of disease pathology, foster novel therapeutic approaches, and catalyze innovation in medical technology.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Mechanotransduction
- Mechanoresponses
- Mechano diagnostics
- Translational mechano therapeutics
- Mechanical microenvironment in diseases
- In vitro disease models
- Neurodegenerative mechanobiology (mechanomedicine)
- Cardiovascular mechanobiology (mechanomedicine)
- Cancer mechanobiology (mechanomedicine)
- Musculoskeletal mechanobiology (mechanomedicine)
