Submission Deadline: January 31, 2027Contribute to this Special Topic
This Special Topic honors the memory of David Waldeck, recognizing his seminal contributions to experimental chemical physics and chirality induced spin selectivity. Dave’s contributions to JCP spanned five decades and showcased groundbreaking insights into molecular friction, photoisomerization dynamics, spin-selective electron transfer, and chiral spin filtering. This volume surveys the current state of the field of chirality induced spin selectivity, focusing on areas where Dave made key contributions, including materials supporting CISS, theoretical approaches to determining mechanisms of CISS, chirality and spectroscopy, spin-dependent electrochemistry, and catalysis.Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Chirality Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS)
- Chiral Spin Filtering
- Spin-Selective Electron Transfer
- Chiral Materials
- CISS Theory and Mechanisms
- Chirality and Spectroscopy
- Spin-Dependent Electrochemistry
- Chiral Catalysis
- Experimental Chemical Physics
- Molecular Friction
- Photoisomerization Dynamics
- Spintronics
