Recent Advances in Magnonics

Submission Deadline: August 30, 2022

Magnonics is an ever-growing research field at the intersection between magnetism, spintronics, and electronics that aims at exploring the properties of the quanta of magnetic propagating excitations, i.e., magnons, and their potential for high-speed applications such as analog, digital, and quantum information processing at microwave frequencies, signal filtering and transmission as well as sensing. This Special Topic is intended to bring together researchers working on cutting-edge research in this field, including, but not limited to, novel experimental techniques, materials, physical phenomena and engineered devices, advances in modeling and simulations, as well as new theoretical breakthroughs pushing the frontiers of magnonics.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel experimental techniques in magnonics
  • Hybrid and quantum magnonic systems
  • Magnonics in 1D, 2D, 3D, and non-collinear systems
  • Spin transport in magnonics
  • Advances in modeling and simulations for magnonics and hybrid structures
  • Atomic-scale and nuclear magnonics
  • Magnonics-based devices
  • Magnonics in unconventional and biological systems
  • New theoretical frontiers in magnonics

Submission and acceptance criteria:

Manuscripts considered for publication in Journal of Applied Physics are expected to meet the journal’s standard of acceptance: to report on original and timely results that significantly advance understanding in contemporary applied physics. Material that is exclusively review in nature is not considered for publication. Manuscripts submitted for consideration in this Special Topic must meet the same criteria and will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process. The Editorial Team of Journal of Applied Physics will issue final decisions on the submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts will publish immediately upon acceptance.

For more information on the journal’s editorial policies, please click here.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system (PXP) of Journal of Applied Physics. Please select the Special Topic “Recent Advances in Magnonics” to submit your manuscript for consideration in this Special Topic.
