Heterogeneous Single-Atom Catalysis

Submission Deadline: January 31, 2021View Collection

Heterogeneous single-atom catalysis is receiving a great deal of interest due to its promise for delivering a new generation of active and selective catalysts that utilize metals at the ultimate limit of atom efficiency. While the recent literature contains a vast number of reports of the synthesis and application of new catalysts, there is a distinct lack of fundamental understanding of the exact nature of the active sites and their operating mechanism. Therefore, for this field to achieve its full potential, a deeper level of atomic-scale structure-function studies are needed to guide the rational development of new catalysts.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Catalysis
  • Alloys
  • Oxides
  • Precious metals
  • Environment
  • Energy
