Microfluidic Therapeutics for Virus Infection
Submission Deadline: December 1, 2020
The recent global COVID-19 outbreak has highlighted the urgent need for effective therapeutic agents to combat viral infections. Microfluidic technology has the potential to establish in vitro and ex vivo models for developing viral therapeutics and investigating their therapeutic/toxic effects. In addition, microfluidic devices can also be used to fabricate advanced drug formulations and delivery systems, in particular involving the use of biomaterial as drug carriers. This special issue features research on various microfluidic approaches for treating viral infections.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Viral therapeutics
- COVID-19
- Microfluidics
- Drug delivery
- Biomaterial
- Organ-on-a-chip
- Biomanufacturing
