Biomedical Devices and Sensors

Submission Deadline: November 30, 2026Contribute to this Special Topic
Decorative ImageBiomedical devices and sensors stand at the intersection of engineering innovation and clinical need, translating foundational research into precision medicine practice. By converting molecular, cellular, and bioelectrical signatures into quantifiable data, these systems deliver rapid, sensitive, and specific diagnostics that inform timely therapeutic decisions across oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular disorders. This Special Topic will showcase the next generation of lab-on-a-chip, nanobiosensor, and bioelectrical platforms. Authors are encouraged to present new transduction mechanisms and materials, point-of-care diagnostics, and AI-enhanced signal and data processing in clinically relevant matrices.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel Transduction Mechanisms for Biomedical Sensors
  • Advanced Materials and Biointerfaces for Biosensing
  • Point-of-Care and Wearable Diagnostic Devices
  • Precision Medicine Enabled by Biosensing Technologies
  • AI-Enhanced Data Collection and Processing in Biosensing
