Editor Policies

Term Limits

Science is ever-changing and dynamic. AIP Publishing has editor term limits in place to ensure we keep pace with emerging trends and meet the needs of the global research community. This regular change in leadership allows for a broader range of ideas and diverse perspectives — providing space for new insights and novel glimpses into topical and worldwide research priorities.

  • Editors-in-Chief serve an initial five-year term with a possibility of renewal for a maximum of 10 years.
  • Deputy Editors and Associate Editors serve one- or two-year terms with a possibility of renewal, ideally not to exceed 10 years total.

Code of Conduct

Academic editors are required to abide by the same Code of Conduct as AIP Publishing staff. This Code is designed to foster an environment and culture that supports progress toward our mission: to advance, promote, and serve the physical sciences for the benefit of humanity. It is the intent of this Code of Conduct to preserve the values of the organization, set clear expectations for behaviors and interactions that align with those values, and serve as a commitment to the professional and ethical conduct of all those associated with AIPP.
