AIP Publishing, the American Physical Society, and IOP Publishing deepen their commitment to making science more accessible to all
Purpose-Led Publishing (PLP) members AIP Publishing, the American Physical Society, and IOP Publishing are hosting multiple satellite sites for the 2025 APS Global Physics Summit. In an era where the global exchange of scientific knowledge is more critical than ever, these sites will be local, online extensions of the Global Physics Summit, making the event more accessible for all. Through these sites, scientists around the world will be able to directly engage with the cutting-edge discussions and collaborations happening in Anaheim, CA, in March 2025. In addition to participation in the summit, the PLP coalition will feature specialized presentations and workshops on the essentials of successful publishing.
Rachel Burley, chief publications officer at the American Physical Society, said, “These events are about building an inclusive and engaged global community. Through these satellite sites, we’re giving researchers the chance to not just participate in the Global Physics Summit, but also learn how to more effectively share their work with the world through peer-reviewed publications.”
“All scientists, regardless of their location, should have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge,” added Antonia Seymour, chief executive of IOP Publishing. “By establishing these satellite sites, we are making the APS Global Physics Summit more accessible, fostering collaboration among regional physicists, and providing essential support to help them navigate the scientific publishing process.”
“By creating more opportunities for physicists to engage globally, we are making sure that cutting-edge research and ideas are accessible to all,” said Alix Vance, chief executive of AIP Publishing. “These satellite sites reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration, ensuring that the next generation of scientific breakthroughs comes from a diverse and inclusive community.”
Members of the PLP coalition reinvest 100% of their funds into the research ecosystem, prioritizing research integrity and accessibility for the entire scientific community. These satellite events are part of that commitment.
More information on the locations and schedules of the events will be released in the coming months.
