Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy (JRSE) is pleased to introduce three new members of its editorial team. As the journal continues to expand its reach and impact, these distinguished researchers bring valuable expertise that strengthen the journal’s core topical areas.

Ali Madiseh, Deputy Editor
The University of British Columbia, Canada
Ali Madiseh is Canada Research Chair in Advanced Mine Energy Systems and Associate Professor at Norman B. Keevil Mining Engineering Department of University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He is also a directing committee board member of the Underground Mining Society for Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and a board member of Canadian Association of Energy Economics (CAEE). His research focuses on energy systems used in mining and petroleum industries and includes the development of novel solutions for improving energy efficiency, decarbonization and replacing fossil fuels with renewable energies.

George Xydis, Deputy Editor
Aarhus University, Denmark
George Xydis has extensive experience in the wind energy sector, collaborating with developers, utilities, construction firms, universities, and research institutes. His professional background includes roles as a Wind Projects Development Coordinator at Iberdrola Renewables and a Wind Project Developer at Vector Hellenic Windfarms S.A. He also served as a Researcher at the Center for Electric Power and Energy in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark.
In February 2017, he joined the Center for Energy Technologies at Aarhus University as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Full Professor in January 2023. Since January 2024, he has been with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Peloponnese.
Additionally, George was a co-founder of VerdeCube and has worked as an adjunct faculty member in the Energy Policy and Climate program at Johns Hopkins University.

Ruixiao Sun, Associate Editor
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), USA
Ruixiao Sun is an R&D Associate Staff in the Applied Research for Mobility Systems Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Her research focuses on transportation energy systems modeling and techno-economic analysis, including vehicle adoption and stock turnover, electrification infrastructure planning, and policy/market scenario analysis. She develops and applies models to evaluate vehicle technology pathways, charging economics, and emissions impacts across light- and heavy-duty transportation systems.
