Melville, NY, October 2017 – AIP Publishing and The International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM), the leading global trade association for academic and professional publishers, are pleased to announce that Dr Jason Wilde was appointed Chair of the STM Board of Directors at the association’s annual meeting in Frankfurt on October 9, 2017.
Wilde will lead the 15-member STM Board as the association approaches its 50th Anniversary next year. “In a publishing landscape that is constantly evolving and facing new challenges, STM has a vital role to play and I’m honoured to be a part of that,” says Wilde.
In recent years, STM has been involved with the development of several new protocols for the industry to facilitate the dissemination and accessibility of content, including the RA21 initiative to align and simplify pathways to subscribed content, the SCHOLIX framework for the linking of research data and publications, and the How Can I Share It? website which houses the association’s voluntary principles for article sharing.
Jason Wilde is the Chief Publishing Officer (CPO) for AIP Publishing, a wholly owned, not-for-profit subsidiary of the American Institute of Physics where he is responsible for the leadership, vision, and growth of AIPP’s journal publishing program. Wilde has been in the publishing industry for 20 years, holding senior positions with Nature Publishing Group after starting his publishing career as an editor with the Institute of Physics in the UK.
