MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 26, 2024 — AIP Publishing has signed a one-year Read and Publish agreement with Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV), one of Latin America’s premiere scientific research institutions. The agreement will run through January 2025 and provide CINVESTAV’s research community with access to 21 of AIP Publishing’s leading journals.
The agreement also allows for CINVESTAV-affiliated scholarly authors to publish their work in those 21 AIP Publishing publications without the need to pay article processing charges (APCs).
The Read and Publish agreement will be beneficial to researchers, authors, and thought leaders at CINVESTAV, which was established more than 60 years ago in Mexico City and now encompasses 10 campuses across Mexico.
“We are excited to enter into this partnership with CINVESTAV and its accomplished scientific community,” said Dr. Penelope Lewis, Chief Publishing Officer at AIP Publishing. “With agreements like these, we take another step forward in our globe-spanning efforts to make science more open and accessible.”
“Scientific knowledge is key to tackle the many local, regional, and global challenges we face; sharing of data thus becomes crucial,” said CINVESTAV Dra. Martha Espinosa Cantellano, Panning Secretary. “By signing this Read and Publish agreement with AIP Publishing, we ensure that advances obtained in our laboratories are easily accessible to other research groups in the world.”
About CINVESTAV
CINVESTAV was created in 1961 by presidential decree, as a decentralized public organism sectorized to the Ministry of Education. It was the first research institution in Mexico having full-time researchers developing cutting edge research and offering graduate programs to advanced undergraduate students. It now covers research in the areas of Exact and Natural Sciences, Biology and Health Sciences, Technology and Engineering, and Social Sciences and Humanities. In its 63 years of operation, CINVESTAV has graduated over 17,000 masters and doctorates in science, many of whom have enriched scientific projects and academic programs in state universities throughout all 32 States of Mexico, while others have settled in universities and research institutions abroad. In several international ranking publications, CINVESTAV has been pointed out as the leading institution in the training of high-level researchers and in the generation of cutting-edge scientific and technological knowledge. CINVESTAV aims to contribute to the solution of some of Mexico’s problems, expanding its presence in society and in the Mexican contemporary culture, with a growing national and international impact.
