AIP Publishing, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to Publish New Journal, MechanoEngineering

  • February 24, 2025

MELVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 24, 2025 — AIP Publishing is honored to announce it has formed a partnership with the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to launch a new journal, MechanoEngineering.

MechanoEngineering, a publication dedicated to exploring dynamic mechanical influences on structures, materials, and systems, is scheduled to open for submissions on June 2 of this year. The first issue will be published in the first week of August.

The new journal’s aim is to promote and disseminate original research pertaining to mechanics in the contemporary era, with particular emphasis on critical emerging engineering topics.

“The landscape of mechanics has undergone significant transformation over the past decade,” said Prof. Tian Jian Lu, MechanoEngineering’s inaugural editor-in-chief. “The advent of digital technology, enhanced computing power, and data flow advancements, along with artificial intelligence developments necessitates entirely new approaches in addressing challenges that arise within this vastly expanded domain.”

“MechanoEngineering is poised to document these changes while keeping the global mechanics community informed about groundbreaking shifts and revolutionary ideas,” Prof. Lu added.

Through the leadership of Prof. Lu and Co-Editors-in-Chief Prof. Vikram Deshpande (Cambridge University) and Prof. Huajian Gao (Tsinghua University), as well as an editorial committee of more than 30 distinguished researchers from major academic institutions across the globe, MechanoEngineering will showcase and promote research related to materials, structures, couplings, intelligence systems, linkages, strategies, and myriad other aspects of mechanics.

“Mechanics is evolving rapidly — and AIP Publishing is delighted to be working with the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to launch MechanoEngineering, a journal dedicated to staying at its forefront,” said Dr. Penelope Lewis, Chief Publishing Officer at AIP Publishing. “Our partnership with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics is a powerful reminder of our mission to bring groundbreaking science to a global audience. We are excited to see MechanoEngineering help chart the course in this emergent field for years to come.”
