AIP Publishing Releases Digitized Versions of First 22 Volumes of Low Temperature Physics in Honor of Journal’s 50th Anniversary

  • April 8, 2025

MELVILLE, N.Y., April 8, 2025 — In celebration of 50 years of excellence at the forefront of low temperature physics research and thought leadership, AIP Publishing is thrilled to announce Low Temperature Physics (LTP) — an English translation of the journal FIZIKA NIZKIKH TEMPERATUR (FNT) — is releasing digitized versions of its first 22 volumes, spanning 1975 to 1996, which includes over 4,700 seminal research articles.

The release of these translated and digitized volumes, which previously were only accessible as abstracts, means the complete 50-year history of Low Temperature Physics is now available to the entire scientific community.

Since its inception, Low Temperature Physics has documented vital progress across the low temperature physics research landscape, communicating the results of important experimental and theoretical studies involving superconductivity, magnetism, lattice dynamics, quantum liquids and crystals, cryocrystals, low-dimensional and disordered systems, electronic properties of normal metals and alloys, and critical phenomena, among other fields.

With its full collection now online, the research community now has unprecedented access to a half-century of discovery and advancement.

“AIP Publishing has done a fantastic job of recognizing the contribution of the FNT/LTP journal to the development of low-temperature physics not only in Ukraine but also worldwide, taking into account the names of such outstanding scientists as A. M. Kosevich, I. K. Yanson, V. G. Manzhelii (вибрав перших трьох по цитаванню в гуглі) and many others who сlosely collaborated with the journal, and, of course, B. I. Verkin, who founded the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering in Kharkiv, where 15 years later he established the FNT journal,” said LTP Editor-in-Chief Yurii G. Naidyuk.

“It’s hard to overstate the depth and breadth of the impact Low Temperature Physics has had over its 50 years in operation,” said Dr. Penelope Lewis, Chief Publishing Officer at AIP Publishing. “You can’t tell the story of this field without this journal. AIP Publishing is honored to be able to ensure all of that groundbreaking work is readily available.”
