Open Framework Materials for Energy Applications

Submission Deadline: July 8, 2019View Collection

Open Framework materials with interpentrating porosity and tunable chemical structure have attracted tremendous attention. Recently, there is increasing interest in delivering advanced open framework materials for energy utilization and environmental remediation. This special issue will provide a comprehensive overview on recent advances in designing and advancing open framework materials for energy applications. It will focus on various open porous materials including porous carbon materials, metal-organic framewords (MOFs), covalent-organic framewords (COFs), zeolitic-imidazolate frameworkds (ZIFs), gas hydrates, porous metal oxide/sulfide/phosphide. The selected articles will provide a state-of-the-art overview of the progress in porous materials design, synthesis, characterization, and energy applications over the last few years.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Electrochemical energy storate including batteries, capacitors, etc
  • Electrocatalysis
  • Photocatalysis
  • Storage of energy gases
  • Seperation and purification of energy gases
  • CO2 capture and separation
  • Thermal energy storage
  • Gas hydrate techniques
