AIP Publishing is excited to announce another addition to its rapidly growing portfolio of open access publications, APL Electronic Devices, which will open for submissions in 2024.
APL Electronic Devices will serve and empower the growing fields of electronics and devices research, publishing research articles, comprehensive reviews, and perspectives on semiconductors, photovoltaics, sensors, detectors, micro- and nanoelectronics, flexible electronics, and more. Sitting at the intersection of multiple communities, including theory/modeling, experimental/applied physics, and engineering, the new journal will build community connections and industry-academic partnerships that will accelerate discovery.
APL Electronic Devices will welcome contributions ranging from fundamental aspects of semiconductor electronic structure to the design, fabrication, and characterization of real-world electronic devices. The search is currently underway for the journal’s inaugural Editor-in-Chief, with first papers expected to be published in 2024.
Sitting alongside APL Quantum, APL Energy, APL Machine Learning, APL Materials, APL Photonics, and APL Bioengineering, APL Electronic Devices will be the seventh addition to the Applied Physics Letters (APL) family of publications — a growing collection of targeted, highly influential applied physics journals all operating by the same standards of rigor, integrity, and quality Applied Physics Letters has represented for more than 60 years.
APL Electronic Devices will also mark a new entry into AIP Publishing’s broad and expanding library of open access publications. AIP Publishing’s open access portfolio is dedicated to advancing open science while maintaining its hallmark high-quality peer review ethos.
“APL Electronic Devices is an important addition to both our open access portfolio and the APL family of publications,” said Penelope Lewis, Chief Publishing Officer at AIP Publishing. “Each journal at AIP Publishing is built on a bedrock of a community of editors, authors, and reviewers dedicated to advancing their respective fields. APL Electronic Devices will be the home for authors to publish their most groundbreaking and impactful research in this growing field for years to come.”
More information on the journal’s editorial mission and scope will be announced once the Editor-in-Chief is appointed. If you are interested in leading an experienced and dedicated team of experts on the forefront of electronics and devices research and would like to know more about the role, please visit the APL Electronic Devices landing page.
