Photophysics in Emerging Photovoltaics

Submission Deadline: May 31, 2022

The past few years have been exciting for emerging photovoltaic technologies, with lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and organic solar cells (OSCs) showing efficiencies reliably exceeding 25% and 18%, respectively. Yet the photophysics underpinning PSCs and OSCs are only partially uncovered, and a better understanding is necessary to achieve more efficient, and photostable, solar cells and optoelectronic devices in the future. This special issue collects the latest cutting-edge research in the photophysics of PSCs and OSCs, contributed by experts on spectroscopy, theory, device physics and materials science.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • hybrid solar cells
  • organic solar cells
  • perovskite
  • ultrafast spectroscopy
  • electron dynamics
  • exciton dynamics
