Melville, N.Y., June 24, 2026 — AIP Publishing (AIPP) and Jisc have signed a new three-year AIP Fusion agreement that expands open access publishing opportunities for researchers across the United Kingdom while providing participating institutions with streamlined access to AIP Publishing’s subscription content.
The AIP Fusion agreement, which includes 29 participating institutions, reflects the shared commitment of AIP Publishing and Jisc to advancing open research and increasing the visibility and impact of scientific scholarship.
“Jisc has long been a leader in advancing sustainable and equitable models for scholarly communication,” said Kevin Steiner, Head of Global Sales at AIP Publishing. “We are delighted to partner with Jisc through this AIP Fusion agreement, which will help researchers across the United Kingdom increase the reach and impact of their work while supporting a more open and accessible research ecosystem.”
As the United Kingdom’s digital and data agency for higher education and research, Jisc uses its national scale to negotiate sustainable publishing models and strengthen digital infrastructure. By partnering directly with universities and research organizations, Jisc’s licensing services expand access to scholarly content, accelerate open research, and ensure institutions maximize the impact of their academic investments.
“We are delighted to expand our partnership with AIP Publishing,” said Anna Vernon, Head of Research Licensing at Jisc. “This agreement strengthens support for sustainable pathways to open access publishing and ensures continued access to the high-quality scholarly content researchers rely on.”
The new agreement further adds to AIP Publishing’s growing network of transformative partnerships worldwide, covering 384 institutions and consortia spanning 24 countries. Researchers at participating institutions benefit from increased opportunities to share their discoveries openly, fostering greater collaboration and innovation across the physical sciences and related disciplines.
AIP Fusion combines reading access and open access publishing into a single agreement, enabling researchers at participating institutions to publish eligible articles open access in AIP Publishing’s full journal portfolio without incurring individual article processing charges (APCs). By simplifying the publishing process and reducing administrative burdens, the agreement helps researchers focus on disseminating their work to the widest possible audience.
