Designer Biomolecules for Therapeutics
This Special Topic aims to present an overview of recent advances in the identification, design and development of novel therapeutic biomolecules, including peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides. Biomolecular engineering methods range from computational design to experimental methods. Contributions over a wide range of topics -from basic research on biomolecular design to disease treatment- are expected, unfolding the most exciting opportunities that biomolecular engineering approaches can provide to the advancement of therapies.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Novel Therapeutic Modalities
- Gene delivery systems
- Therapeutic proteins, peptides and peptidomimetics
- Biomimetic drug carriers
- Engineering of therapeutic biomolecules
